Proven Results for Denton County

Faster Justice for Small Claims

We’ve committed to resolving Small Claims cases under $20,000 in 9 months or less — bringing fairness and speed to those who need it most.

Cleared Over 5,000 Case Backlog

When I took office, our court faced a massive backlog of debt claim cases. By maximizing existing technology and reorganizing our docket, we cleared over 5,000 cases without spending an extra penny of taxpayer money.

Empowering Self-Represented Litigants

Many citizens represent themselves in court. By expanding access to technology and online resources, we’ve made it easier for everyone to participate in their cases and have their voices heard.

Building Stronger Partnerships

Our collaboration with the Constable’s Office has never been stronger. Together, we’ve improved communication and coordination to better serve the public.

Helping Students Stay in School

We’ve worked closely with school districts to make the Truancy Court more effective, holding both students and parents accountable while supporting students in danger of dropping out. These efforts have helped students return to school and graduate.

Modernizing Court Culture

We’ve ushered in a culture of professionalism and customer service, ensuring that everyone who walks into the JP1 Court is treated with respect and dignity.
